Algae Advisory for Wasi Lake

The Health Unit is advising that a bloom of Blue Green Algae was detected in Chisholm. Officials are telling residents with private water systems to avoid using the water for drinking, cooking, bathing or swimming and don’t eat the liver, kidneys or other organs of fish caught in the water.

They also say boiling the water or using home water treatment devices will NOT destroy the toxins.

Residents and visitors to Wasi Lake are advised to use another source of water.
