Launching the Michele Wood Fund

Former MP Bob Wood and other officials were on hand at Canadore’s commerce court campus Thursday to announce a new funding initiative called the Michele Wood Fund.

The fund looks to help out individuals who are hit with unexpected medical bills and those who are in need of the financial support.

The funding initiative is a first of its kind and Bob explained why it’s a unique fund as well.“We don’t give out money,” stated former MP Wood.

“We give out gift cards, flowers and whatever else to try and pick up people, because it is a burden.”

Michele’s sister Lisa Lefebvre was also in attendance for the event and she noted how much the event meant to her. “It’s very touching,” said Lefebvre after the announcement was made.

“It hits right to the heart, because anyone who knew my sister Michele, even slightly, would have recognized that she was generous to a fault”.
