Local School Recognized For Specialized Program

The STEAM program at West Ferris has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished Program for 2015 to 2017.

This designation is reserved for programs that meet criteria for innovation, leadership, and educational excellence. The STEAM program integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics with a focus on project based learning.

The program has grown since it’s inception in 1992 at the local school.

In 2005 it became a Wireless Program with the inclusion of laptops as the main learning tool.

STEAM students are co-learners with their peers and teachers using cutting edge computer technologies.
