Police warning about numerous thefts from vehicles

City police are reminding residents to remove valuable items from their vehicles and to always lock the doors.

This after numerous reports of thefts from vehicles and damages to vehicles too. Incidents have been reported on Johnston Road, Victoria Street East, Perut Place, Guinevere Court and Sable Crescent.

Police say in some cases, bricks have been thrown through windows of vehicles to get inside and remove cash.

Meantime, North Bay Police have charged a 57 year old man with assault with a weapon after an incident at a downtown residence yesterday (Wednesday) around 4:30 pm.

It’s alleged an argument between two men who are known to each other turned violent.

Police responded and seized an edged weapon.

There were no reported injuries.
