Early Years Centre program focusing on "Mother'Hood"

A new program at the Early Years Centre is giving new moms an outing to take part in.

Manager Kcristal Speiss says it’s called Mother’Hood and involves the Nurse Practitioners-led clinic on Lakeshore.

She says the program is geared towards moms with children under one, and runs until the end of June at 10:30 on Monday mornings at the Early Years Centre and is free.

Speiss says the Nurse Practitioner leads an activity and they venture out for a walk, then return for a discussion on a wellness topic.

Some of the topics covered include adjusting to their new life, nutrition, recovery from pregnancy and childbirth and infant growth and development.
