smoking

Council has approved to extend a non-smoking by-law to the North Bay Museum yard and the grounds of the Community Waterfront Park. Chair of Engineering and Works Tanya Vrebosch says the Heritage Committee who maintain that area have asked for this for a while.

Vrebosch says this goes along with provincial by-laws which banned smoking from the Heritage Train and CarouselShe says there are still areas near there were smoking is prohibited.

Vrebosch says smoking is still allowed on the sidewalk and the civic square – but the by-law extends to the green space behind the Museum.

Vrebosch says any event the Heritage Committee hosts is already a smoke free event.
