SnowThe clean-up is well underway in the North Bay area after a major overnight snowfall.

A winter storm warning has ended.

There’s no official amounts, but Environment Canada was calling for upwards of 35 cm of snow with blowing and drifting snow causing issues.

Highway 11 North from the City of North Bay to Temiscaming Shores has re-opened.

It was shutdown at 4 am because of weather conditions.  The roadway from Temiscaming Shores to Englehart re-opened just before 9 am.

Highway 64 from Sturgeon Falls to Highway 11 has also re-opened. It was closed for a couple of hours because of the weather.

Meantime, Mayor Al McDonald posted on social media this morning that the full compliment of road crews have been out since 4 am, plus there was a crew out over night.

They concentrated on the main routes, arterial and collectors, along with bus routes.

He says with the constant snow, they had to re-do these routes a number of times, delaying them from getting to the side streets and rural areas.

Crews are getting to those areas and they should be done by the end of day.
