Growing the city, job creation and economic development discussed at Good Roads

A productive series of meetings for a local delegation at the Ontario Goods Road Association Conference in Toronto.

Mayor Al McDonald says they talked about growing the city, job creation, economic development and the Cassellholme re-development.

He also says they continue to encourage the province to look for more work to increase employment in the ONTC’s refurbishment division.   McDonald says there’s tremendous opportunity out there for rail car refurbishment so they sat down with the Minister of Northern Development and Mines to continue to push the opportunity forward.

He also says they’ve been trying to get a forest fire suppression facility at the airport for a couple years with discussions with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry going well.
