The North Bay Battalion closed out the pre-Christmas portion of their schedule with a 5-2 loss to Peterborough yesterday (Sunday).

Troops forward Brett McKenzie opened the scoring in the second period.

The Petes tallied twice to take the lead before Daniil Vertiy tied the game up at two.

However, Peterborough scored three more times in the third to win their eight straight game.

The Battalion still lead the Central Division with 32 points, two better than Sudbury, heading into the break.

North Bay is back in action on December 28th with a road game in Owen Sound.

 

In the Great North Midget League, the North Bay Midget AAA Trappers won 7-3 in the Soo yesterday and have sole possession of first place in the standings.

North Bay won two out of three in the Soo on the weekend.

Ryan Mills and Matt Hardwick scored two goals each in yesterday’s win.

Payton Vescio, Dylan Bond and Mason McMahon added singles.

They’re back in action Wednesday at home to the Sudbury Minor-Midget Wolves.

 

The Powassan Voodoos look to close out the pre-Christmas portion of their schedule with another win tonight.

They’re home to Iroquois Falls at 7:30 pm.

Powassan has won 22 straight games.
