High School Teachers in the Peel, Durham and Rainbow Districts are back to work today (Wednesday).

The Ontario Liberals introduced back to work legislation yesterday (Tuesday) while the Ontario Labour Relations Board deemed the strikes illegal.

This means more than 70-thousand students will return to the classrooms.

Locally, Near North Board Chair Dave Thompson says the negotiation process continues for both High School and Elementary.

He was asked if he thought the process for the other three boards was handled properly.

Thompson says whether it’s fair or not, the decision has been made, but he adds the process still continues.

He says those school boards are now looking for guidance from the Ministry of Education on how to finish the school year – including grades, number of makeup dates and graduating students.
