Battalion prospects showcase their skills

The North Bay Battalion held their orientation camp on the weekend, with 32 prospects taking part.

They played some four on four scrimmages and also ran some conditioning tests.

With the recent success of the Battalion over the last two seasons, expectations are high and players will be expected to step up for the upcoming season.

For some, it was a new experience but for Brady Lyle, it was a familiar scene.

Lyle was picked by the North Bay Battalion in the first round of the 2015 OHL Priority Selection, 18th overall and he grew up right here in North Bay.

He was the first local player taken in the first round of the OHL draft by the local team since 1996 and he’s thrilled about the opportunity. “It’s a dream come true,” said Lyle. “Every kid who’s watched the team wants to play here and being a first round pick to the team is a great first step to making the team”.

Jacob Ball was the Troops second pick in the OHL Priority Selection, taken in the 3rd round, 57th overall.

He’s thrilled the opportunity.

“It’s amazing,” stated Ball. “The community and the fans are amazing, and I hope I can play here next year”.
