North Bay Police officers will be back on their bikes soon

City police officers will once again be taking to bicycles this summer in North Bay and Callander.

The Bicycle Patrol Unit will be peddling throughout the community from June 1st to September 1st.

They’ll be highly visible with their yellow shirts as they patrol the downtown core, the waterfront, bicycle paths and other public areas, along with more secluded areas like trails and alleyways.

Deputy Chief Shawn Devine says residents continue to inform them about the value of having police officers on bicycles in the downtown core and bike paths and trails because it provides them with greater access to their officers and a greater sense of security.
