Almaguin Highlands Secondary School’s Nathan Jeffery (pictured with Education Minister Liz Sandals) has been selected to serve a one year term.

He’ll be representing rural and northern students and will provide insight and a voice from the student perspective in education.

Jeffery says, “I am very excited to take on this opportunity with the Ministry of Education. Being an advocate and change maker for the Ontario education system is an absolute privilege, and one that will provide me with great experience.”

The competitive runner and Nordic skier is currently serving as Student Trustee for the Near North District School Board.

Last week it was announced St. Joseph-Scollard Hall’s Mackenzie Bass-Simpson was also named to the minister’s Student Advisory Council.
