Christmas in North Bay is going to be sandwiched in between a couple of weather systems and the big day is expected to be dry and sunny.

That’s the word from The Weather Network.

Meteorologist Kelly Sonnenburg says we can expect some precipitation tonight into tomorrow (Sat).

“A few centimetres of snow, about 2 to 4 cm to the North Bay area. But the good news, we’ve got clear flying conditions for Santa on Christmas Eve,” she said.

As for Christmas Day, she said, “it won’t be picture perfect with nice snow falling, but we’ll have the snow on the ground, we’ll have beautiful blue skies, sunny skies, so that’ll be great weather if you want to get out and go for a nice family walk on Christmas Day.”

Boxing Day is a different story though, with a Colorado Low bringing in precipitation.

In fact, a special weather statement has been issued for the Northeast.

Depending on the track of the system, it could mean snow, rain, ice pellets or freezing rain.
