A homecoming for North Bay’s Jamie Spilchuk.

That’s how he describes filming season three of Hard Rock Medical in the city.

The new season premieres this coming Sunday night at 8 o’clock on TVO. “I got to work with some people that I went to high school with and, of course, I knew where we were filming all the time. I had that sense of groundedness,” he said.

Spilchuk also says North Bay plays a character in the show.

“It is indeed the north, and the north has always been a character in the series, which is really cool. So, the fact that now it gets to be North Bay showcased is very awesome,” he added.

Spilchuk says there’s a launch event this Thursday at the Capitol Centre with funds raised going to Canadore College’s scholarship fund, the North Bay Food Bank and the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

He and some of the cast, along with the show’s creators will be there.

As for the season itself, he says, “the coolest thing that happens, not just with my character, but with all the characters is things start to go off the rails for everybody in their personal lives, as well as professionally. We’re put in the field a little more, so we’re actually working with patients at their homes or at a downtown clinic that they set up.”  Spilchuk goes on to say, “things start to go off the tracks so it starts to get messy which is always fun to play.”

Following the January 8th broadcast, the entire season will be available on demand at TVO.org
