Thursday meeting lined up involving the city's new dog park

The North Bay and District Humane Society is hosting a Town Hall meeting on Thursday to talk about the dog park.

The announcement came in November for North Bay’s first ever off-leash Dog Park, located across from Champlain Park at the end of Premier Road.

The dog park is set to open next month.

Executive Director Daryl Vaillancourt says they want to hear from the community for what they want this dog park to look like.

Vaillancourt says there have been suggestions for lights to use the park at night, and he says benches will be a priority.

He says while the park is owned and operated by the Humane Society, they want the community to take ownership and make it feel like home for their pets.

The meeting is at 7pm at the Davedi Club this Thursday.
