Awareness the focus for this Mining Week locally

Several events are planned this week to educate the public on North Bay’s mining industry.

It is to celebrate Mining Week and Chair Suzanne Lafontaine says there are more companies in the city than most realize who support the industry.

She says they are hoping to share that information and make contacts within the community, through their events.

A couple of events open to the public include the Gateway Branch Luncheon tomorrow (Tuesday) at 11:30am at the Davedi Club.

Lafontaine says there will be a guest speaker, Alicia Woods from MacLean Engineering.

Meantime, there will be a networking event put on by the Mining Professionals Next Generation on Thursday at 7pm at the Raven and Republic.
