Burton Cummings and Band will hit the stage on August 1st here in North Bay for Summer in the Park.

He was announced as the headline act for the Saturday show at city council Monday night, while Johnny Reid will headline Friday’s Kickin it Country night on July 31st.

Festival Chair John Strang says wristbands are only $25 in advance, until May 31st.

Strang says by supporting both Summer in the Park and Mattawa Voyageur Days, you are getting a great deal.

Strang says it’s all about supporting tourism throughout our region.

He believes people will go to both because the events are aimed at different demographics. Other acts announced included Autumn Hill and Michelle Wright for Kickin it Country and Alan Frew of Glass Tiger opening on Saturday.

You can get tickets at the Capitol Centre, Canadian Tire, Parkers Independent Grocers, City Hall, and the Chamber of Commerce or online at www.northbaysummerinthepark.ca
