EmpireA free 12-week workshop called “Stand Up” is getting started May 4th to help area residents keep active, flexible and mobile.

It’s thanks to the Health Unit’s “Stay on Your Feet Program“. A trained facilitator will lead a group of up to 16 people, twice a week at the Empire Retirement Residence.

The program is designed for those 45 to 75 years of age with a desire to keep living healthy, active lives.

The sessions involve exercise along with information sharing.

It is all aimed at improving balance, leg strength, maintaining bone density as people age, and more.
