Genesis@204There’s a new business incubator location downtown. And it’s called Genesis @204 as that name represents its address on Main Street. General Manager Sarah Morin says the idea is to give businesses a helping hand when they’re just starting out and they’ll get plenty of support within the community and that includes workshops, networking and other support. Morin says the time the businesses stay at the incubator will vary from 6 months to 2-3 years depending on the business.

She says it’s hoped the businesses will be able to expand their operation after some period of time.

Morin says the incubator is attracting a lot of interest from elsewhere.

Several organizations contributed to the launch with funding including the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Fednor,the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund, Canadore College, RBC Foundation and the North Bay and District Multi Cultural Centre through the North Bay Newcomer Network.
