The North Bay Battalion lost 4-0 Friday night in Mississauga.

The Steelheads outshot the Troops 30-28.

Niagara also lost, so North Bay remains 2 points ahead of the IceDogs for in 8th in the Eastern Conference.

The Battalion are back in action Sunday at home to Sault Ste. Marie.

 

In the NOJHL, the Powassan Voodoos defeated French River 6-1 in Noelville.

With the game tied at one after two periods, the Voodoos scored 5 goals in the third to win the game.

Next up, Powassan is home to Cochrane on Monday night.

 

In OUA women’s hockey, the Nipissing Lakers shutout Laurier 2-0.

The Nipissing men lost 5-0 to Guelph.

In men’s basketball, the Lakers improved to 8-8 on the season with their 4th straight win, 79-69 over Guelph.

The women lost 71-47 to Guelph.

All four Nipissing teams are back in action Saturday.

The women’s hockey team is home to Waterloo, the men entertain York and both basketball teams host Lakehead.

Both Lakers volleyball teams entertain York on Saturday.
