The North Bay Battalion lost 6-1 in Barrie on Saturday night.

Brett McKenzie scored the lone goal for the Troops.

With several regulars already out of the lineup with injury, North Bay only dressed 16 skaters for the game.

This after suspensions were issued to Daniel Walker (2 games) and Max Kislinger (indefinite) for actions in Friday’s win over Sudbury.

The Battalion remain tied with Niagara and Ottawa in the standings after the IceDogs and 67’s also lost on Saturday.

 

In the NOJHL, the Powassan Voodoos clinched first place in the Eastern Conference with a 6-1 win over visiting Espanola.

Dylan D’Agostino scored twice, with four other Voodoos adding singles.

The win was Powassan’s 40th of the season.

 

In the Great North Midget League, the North Bay AAA Trappers lost game two of their semifinal series 5-4 in overtime to Kapuskasing.

The series is tied at a win apiece.

Four different Trappers scored in the loss.

Game three goes Friday in Kapuskasing.

 

In OUA basketball both Nipissing teams wrapped up the regular season with losses to Algoma.

The playoffs begin Wednesday for the men’s team as they take on Queen’s.

In volleyball both Lakers teams won 3-0 over RMC.

They play Queen’s today.

Back to hockey, the Nipissing women wrap up the regular season in Guelph this afternoon.

The Lakers are second in the standings after Guelph won yesterday.

Nipissing begins the playoffs Wednesday against Laurentian.

 

And in OCAA volleyball, Canadore wrapped up their season with a 3-0 loss to Sheridan in a crossover qualifying game.
