The North Bay Battalion are 1-1 on their western road trip after a 3-2 win in Saginaw last night.

The Troops never trailed in the game, the team’s 600th win in franchise history.

Justin Brazeau scored two goals on the night while Brad Chenier also found the back of the net.

North Bay wraps up the weekend with an afternoon game in Sault Ste Marie today.  Broadcast time on Country 600 CKAT is 2 o’clock.

 

In OUA women’s hockey, there will be a third and deciding game in the playoff series between Nipissing and Laurentian.

This after Laurentian won game two 4-3 last night in Sudbury.

The Lakers host the decisive game this afternoon at 4 pm at Memorial Gardens.

In OUA men’s basketball, Nipissing lost their quarterfinal against Ryerson 87-62.

The loss wraps up a historic season for the Lakers who hosted and won their first-ever playoff game last week.

In OUA volleyball, the Nipissing women won 3-0 over Windsor while the men lost 3-1.

The Lakers men will play either Guelph or Western in the playoffs next weekend.

 

Back to hockey, in the Great North Midget League playoffs Kapuskasing shutout the North Bay AAA Trappers 5-0 in game four of their series.

That evens the semifinal at two wins apiece.

Game five goes Monday night at 7:30 pm at Memorial Gardens.
