a 23 year old city man has been charged by North Bay Police with possession of marijuana, unauthorized possession of a firearm, pointing a firearm and two counts of breach of probation.

Police say the charges relate to an incident on Saturday at John and McIntyre Street East.

Police say they arrested a man who was stumbling and after the arrest it was learned he was carrying a black replica handgun and a small amount of marijuana.

Police also learned about an incident on Main Street East in which a man was seen pointing what was believed to be a handgun.

The man was also charged with being intoxicated in a public place.

Meantime, North Bay Police are reporting thefts from several vehicles. They are believed to have happened early on Sunday morning on Lorne and Vimy Streets.

Items stolen include a change purse, wallets, sunglasses, cash, a GPS and a battery charger.
As well, a 34 year old Mattawa male has been charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, criminal harassment and mischief.

Ontario Provincial Police say the charges were laid in connection with a domestic dispute that resulted in a police response last Thursday evening in Mattawa.

And a 25 year old North Bay motorist has been charged with refusal to provide a breath sample.

This after a vehicle was stopped by the OPP on the 11/17 bypass early last Thursday morning.
