Tourism officer to be hired to promote the area

North Bay is very close to getting a tourism officer to help promote the area’s attractions.

Tourism North Bay is an initiative started last year by the local Chamber of Commerce.

The tourism officer will be hired by the end of the month and responsibilities will also include submitting applications for funding various events in the city.

North Bay and District Chamber President Jake Lacourse says there is a great potential to fill hotel rooms, which will have a spin off affect across the city including restaurants and other businesses.
