If you visit any of the McDonald’s locations in North Bay or Sturgeon Falls today, you can help out children in the area by buying a Big Mac, Happy Meal or Hot McCafe Beverage.

Every time one of those items is sold, a dollar will go towards the child and adolescent mental health unit at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

Health Centre Foundation President and CEO Tammy Morison says they had over 130 children treated here last year.

She says this service has only been available for the last few years in North Bay.

Without it, Morison says the treatment would have to be done in Sudbury, and that’s why today is an important fundraiser.

The other charity benefiting from the local funds raised is the Ronald McDonald House in Toronto.
