ski hillArea municipalities have tossed a life saver to the Laurentian Ski Hill.

The Conservation Authority owns the hill, and Chair Dave Mendicino told directors of the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce last night (Thursday), that it looks like the 10 member municipalities will chip in to raise $65,000 a year to help with the costs of fixed capital assets.

North Bay will contribute the biggest chunk, $52,000.

But Mendicino says the four municipalities around Mattawa were also quick to respond, even though Antoine Mountain is on their doorstep.

He says the commitment is for five years and believes without that help, Laurentian wouldn’t have lasted another year.
