Hands The Family Help Network in North Bay is promoting World Autism Awareness Day.

The organization is raising the autism awareness flag at their building on Lakeshore Drive.

Supervising Coordinator, Jennifer Roussy says the goal is to help parents detect the early signs of autism and get the necessary support.

“It’s finding the right treatment for each child. That’s what we do at out IBI centre is individualized one-on-one therapy. Often kids who start school prior to beginning our program don’t have the skills to sit in a classroom and participate. We teach them those skills so they can transition them back to school so they can be successful,” she says.

Although World Autism Day was last weekend, they’re hoping to continue spreading their message throughout the week.
