mooseThe Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is out with a few driving tips to deal with animals you should be aware of this time of year.

The Ministry says stay in control.

They advise you to watch your speed especially at night and going at a slower speed will allow you extra time to slow down should you see a moose, a deer or an elk.

Also brake firmly if an animal is crosdsing the road right in front of you.

Swerving to avoid contact could cause you to lose control of your vehicle and could result in a more serious collision.

And while your driving scan the road ahead of you especially at dawn and dusk where the animals may be out and about looking for food.
