Powassan Voodoos_210Three teams at Canadore were in action on the weekend while another six from Nipissing had a busy weekend too.

In the NOJHL, Powassan is home to French River tonight (Monday) at the Powassan Sportsplex.

The Voodoos have won six straight games.

In the OHL, only one game for the North Bay Battalion on the weekend, they lost 3-2 in overtime to Niagara.

The Troops are back in action tomorrow night (Tuesday) in Ottawa.

Canadore volleyballIn OCAA women’s volleyball, Canadore beat Loyalist 3-2 on Saturday but lost 3-2 to Durham yesterday (Sunday).

The Panthers are second in the East Division, two points back of Durham.

Canadore entertains Georgian in their final regular season game next weekend.

On the men’s side, Canadore won 3-1 over Loyalist but lost 3-1 to Durham.

And in OCAA men’s basketball, Canadore won 87-79 over Durham but lost 82-79 to Fleming.

 

NU lakersBoth Nipissing volleyball teams were in action on Sunday.

The men lost 3-1 to Western while the women lost 3-0.

Recapping OUA hockey on the weekend, the Nipissing men won 4-1 over Carleton then lost 8-1 to Trois Rivieres.

The women won both their games 3-2 over Queens and 6-1 over UOIT.

Meantime, both Lakers basketball teams lost their games to Western and Windsor.
