North Bay Hydro officials, the mayor and Energy Minister Glenn Thibeault were on hand Friday for the launch of a community energy park.

Mayor Al McDonald says the park will be between the y and the Gardens and there will be charging stations on site.

He says there will be savings for the city.

McDonald says the savings are estimated at up to $140,000 a year which is what it costs to heat Memorial Gardens and the North Bay Aquatic Centre.

He says the park will power the gardens and the Aquatic Centre and the city will be given heat for free.
