Cory Marquardt in the running for CMAO Rising Star Award

North Bay’s own Cory Marquardt is up for the Country Music Association of Ontario Rising Star Award.

Nominations for the CMAO Awards were announced today (Monday).

Jason Blaine, Leah Daniels and Tebey are leading with five nominations apiece.

Deric Ruttan and Runaway Angel follow closely behind with four nods each, while Autumn Hill, Cold Creek County, Johnny Reid and Tianna Woods each garner three nominations.

The winners will be announced at the CMAO Awards Show May 30th in Markham.

Marquardt is up against five other artists in the Rising Star category.

They include Ben Hudson, Brooklyn Roebuck, Cold Creek County, Heather Ballentine and Jessica Mitchell.
