City Hall (some snow)The city saw $21-million spent on residential builds in 2015 and Mayor Al McDonald says they are hoping to see that number increase in 2016.

He says there are two rezoning items coming forward at tonight’s Committee meeting of Council.

McDonald says rezones do add to the building permit numbers, although they don’t expect to see a major increase for another month.

He says “home building doesn’t really get going until May, we are hoping the numbers are stronger than what we saw last year, but we continue to get strong numbers on the ICI sector.”

The first application on tonight’s agenda for Chadbourne Drive is to recognize and renovate an existing home.

The second item involves a semi and would open a wall to create one house on McPhail Street.
