The future of the North Bay Battalion will start to take shape today as the OHL 2016 priority selection gets underway this morning.

The Battalion will pick 13th in the first round.

Earlier this week Director of Hockey Operations & Head Coach Stan Butler said it could be a good year for young talent.
He says “I don’t know if there are any Steven Stamkos’ or Matt Duchenes’ in the draft but, from what I’ve been told by our guys is the draft is pretty strong.”

Butler says they expect to get some really good players throughout the first three rounds and then they’ll put their homework to the test through the later stages.

He says they’ve had top talent picked up in the middle and late rounds in the past such as current Battalion members; Cam Dineen, Mark Shoemaker, and Justin Brazeau.
