north bay regional health centreThe North Bay Regional Health Centre is receiving $6-million in one-time funding.

Hospital CEO Paul Heinrich says they’re very appreciative of the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and the Northeast Local Health Integration Network for the support.

He says the funding will help with their major right-sizing that’s going on.

Heinrich says if they would have had to incur all of the one-time costs, they would not have been able to come close to their financial targets.

He says it avoids having them make even deeper cuts in the current fiscal year.

Meantime, Heinrich says most of the staffing adjustments and disruptions to staff announced last summer has been completed.

He says looking forward to their plans for the 2016-17 fiscal year, there continue to be additional pressures and they’re working on the specific budget for that year.
