Battalion logoThe North Bay Battalion don’t get much time to rest after a Game 7 victory over the Peterborough Petes.

They won their first round series on Tuesday and will start their second round series tonight (Thursday) against the Colts in Barrie.

Battalion Head Coach Stan Butler says he expects this to be another tough series to get through and the Battalion will have to play their own style of hockey.

He says “we can’t get in to a sprint race with them, but we’ll go in there and give it our best. A lot of people would say right now we are playing with the houses money.”

It’s the third straight season the Battalion meet the Colts in the second round, with the Troops winning both previous meetings.

The Colts scored the most goals in the Eastern Conference in the regular season and Butler says he’ll be relying on his big four to limit the Colts chances.

He says “Kyle Wood was outstanding on defence (Jake) Smitty was Smitty and obviously we need scoring out of (Mike) Amadio and (Mathew) Santos. Do we need some secondary scoring? Yeah we do, but they seem to find ways to score no matter who they play against.”
