North Bay PoliceNorth Bay Police are looking for a dog walker and a dog following an incident on Sunday afternoon at Cassels and 5th Avenue West. 

Police say the dogwalker lost control of the leash causing the dog to lunge at a two year old girl, snapping at her face which caused her to fall to the ground.

The dogwalker regained control and fled on foot.

Police say the girl suffered non life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital via ambulance.

The dog walker is described as a male in his early ’20’s and was seen wearing a blue baseball cap, a grey sweater and black jeans and was carrying a school bag with red on it. 

The dog is described as medium sized, black with a white chest.

Overall, it was a busy long weekend for North Bay Police with 286 calls for service.

Six people were arrested for several offenses including false alarm of fire, mischief under 5 Thousand Dollars, assault, uttering threats, breach and public intoxication.

Meantime, a 47 year old Smooth Rock Falls male has been charged with false alarm of fire and mischief under 5 Thousand Dollars.

Police say early last Friday, a hotel room door on Deleware Avenue was kicked and a fire alarm was pulled.

Guests had to vacate the premises.

As well, a 42 year old city male has been charged with assault, uttering threats and breach.

Police say on Saturday, an argument between a male and his estranged partner turned violent when the victim was grabbed and threatened in her residence.

The woman was not injured.

And North Bay Police say there were several reported thefts over the long weekend.

Several items were taken in the thefts which were reported on 5th Avenue East, Mulligan Street, Leask Avenue, First Avenue East and Premier Road.

Among the items taken were hand tools, 2 mountain bikes, a sander, a wallet, a bracelet and a purse. 

Also someone stole a blue wallet that was left behind by a customer at a grocery store checkout counter on the 300 block of Lakeshore Drive last Monday.

In the wallet were several items including cash, id and photographs.

The male suspect is described as wearing a red ski jacket with white horizontal stripes and white writing on the back and was wearing a hooded sweater with a design on the hood, a bright orange cap and sun glasses.
