Retail outlets and government offices are closed for the holiday.

Some exceptions include gas stations, convenience stores and tourist operators.

Meantime, there is no city transit service today and there is no garbage or recycling pick-up either.

Collection will be taking place tomorrow.

Also of note, the Merrick Landfill and the City’s Household Hazardous Waste Depot are both closed today.
