City ends 2015 budget with a surplus

In the 2015 budget the Fire department ended with a $587,000 surplus and local agencies and boards ending up with an $11,000 surplus.

All that and more attributed to the $670,000 operating surplus and Budget Chief Sheldon Forgette says they will put it into reserves for now. He says they will soon discuss if they will put it towards some capital projects or reducing the debt.

Meantime, he says it was a good effort on everyone’s part which led to the surplus.
