“Hockey, More than Just a Game” is a new exhibit underway at Discovery North Bay Museum until August 31st.

Visitors can explore the origins of hockey, iconic players, the history of hockey fans, and the cultural impacts of hockey.

The exhibit also includes artifacts from North Bay players, like jerseys, hockey cards, and sticks on loan from Hockey Heritage North.

The artifacts are from Brent Tremblay, Ab Demarco Jr., Bob Dupuis, Gordon and Sheldon Kannegiesser, Craig Rivet, and Ken Wharram.

There’s also an interactive recording station for visitors to record iconic hockey moments, along with an audio kiosk to listen to experts of radio archives.

The Canadian Museum of History developed the exhibition to coincide with the 150th anniversary of Confederation, the 125th anniversary of the Stanley Cup, and the 100th anniversary of the NHL.

Entry to the exhibit is included with regular admission to Discovery North Bay Museum.
