In December, they released a paper called Patients First: a proposal to strengthen patient centered care in Ontario.

The paper looks at four ways of doing so including more integration of services, better access to primary care, more consistent community care and stronger links to public health. The Director of Communications and Community Engagement for the Northeast LHIN Cynthia Stables says there are a number of ways you can get involved.

She says there’s an in person engagement session at the Best Western in North Bay on February 16th, you can fill out a survey on line at www.anylhin.on.ca or give your thoughts by e mail at engagingwith you@lhins.on.ca.

Stables says you have until the end of February to give your views.

Stables says you have until the end of February to take part with action expected by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care in the spring.

She says one recommendation is to put the CCAC’s under the LHIN’s.
