battalion280x1602It was a three point game for Matt Santos last night in Guelph, as he scored a goal and made two assists in the North Bay Battalion’s win.

But the big player during the night was Jake Smith, who played his 9th career shutout, making 20 saves this game.

This record ties him for first in the all-time Battalion standings with Matej Machovsky.

The Battalion haven’t won a game in Guelph since moving to North Bay, and this game finally broke that 2 year long curse.

This win is also the first time the Battalion have won back to back road games this year. They won last weekend in Hamilton.

The Battalion now have 54 point on the year, as they keep even with the Ice Dogs and the Colts in the Central Division race.

The Troops have today off, but will hit home ice tomorrow against the Sudbury Wolves.

Country 600 CKAT has the game at 1:35.
