Health Unit building

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit Board has re-appointed Rick Champagne as Chair.

Champagne has been a member of the board for 13 years and will be serving as chair a second straight term, after taking over the role in January 2015.

He has a background in construction and has been able to lend his expertise to the board as they continue planning for their new building.

Champagne says it’s something he’s really looking forward to being a part of from start to finish.

He says the public feedback has been all positive since it was announce they would own their own building in downtown North Bay.

He says, “people understand we are now getting bang for our buck and we don’t have to sit in a building that we have to band aid and mend. We own it now.”

The plan calls for the Health Unit to be operating out of the new building by the spring of 2017.
