quints homesteadA plan to relocate the Dionne Family Homestead to Corbeil will not be moving forward.

Officials say their proposal and conceptual plan was met with “pessimism and dismissal” and became the “centre of political crossfire”.

Chair of Community Services Mark King says he’s disappointed with the outcome and was involved in the process.

He says he was hoping they would reconsider their decision, but in the end the group decided the relocation wasn’t going to work out.

The structure most recently housed the Dionne Quints Museum on Seymour Street, but it is now closed and won’t be re-opening in that location as the Chamber has moved downtown.

The Chamber website says a committee is underway to determine the best location and/or future for the museum and artifacts.
