Porter6(File photo) There’s a lot going on at the Jack Garland Airport these days.

Airport Board member Daryl Vaillancourt says business is pretty good especially for Porter Airlines since they decided to fly in and out of North Bay.

He says having Porter here has been positive for the air traveller as fares are lower.

He says the ridership numbers for both Porter and Air Canada Jazz in and out of North Bay are good.

Vaillancourt says SunWing continues to fly out of North Bay once a week for a southern location and he’s hoping that continues next year.

This winter flights are leaving for a resort in Cuba.

As for the future the airport will have to address parking with increased traffic at the airport now.

The city councillor also wants to push Porter to add more flights.
