2015 was a successful year for Near North Crime Stoppers

39 arrests and $257,000 in drugs seized by police.

Those Near North Crime Stoppers stats are from 2015 and are thanks to anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers.

Officials say it was another successful year for them, in part due to the popular Web -Tip option to anonymously submit tips on their website.

Board Chair Ginette Cazabon says the number one issue year-after-year is still drug related criminal activity.

She says since inception in 1988, over $51 million in illegal drugs have been recovered by police, thanks to anonymous tips received through Crime Stoppers.

January is Crime Stoppers Month.
