A treat for drivers traveling in and out of West Ferris from downtown.

After about 10 months of major construction, the Lakeshore Overpass opened to four lanes of traffic yesterday (Wednesday).

No official word yet, but there appears to be some finishing touches left to do and line painting.

In terms of the Trout Lake Road overpass, in late September officials said crews were expecting to finish that project by the end of the year.

Meantime, the city says the eastbound ramp at O’Brien St. and Airport Rd is being closed today for repairs at that intersection.

The ramp closure is for vehicles turn right onto Airport and will be in effect from 9 am to 4 pm.
