61 new Canadians are taking part in a Canadian Citizenship Ceremony this morning (Friday) at Nipissing University.

They will each take an oath and be presented with a Certificate of Canadian Citizenship.

The event is being held as a part of Citizenship Week, which runs through Sunday.

 

The Learning Partnership’s 12th annual Celebration of Learning Together goes tomorrow (Saturday) at Odyssee.

Early learning activities for children 6 and under will highlight the theme of “Talk, Read, Sing, Play… Everyday”.

Activities include Touch a Truck, Science North – Build It Up and Mighty Machines, Kiwanis Mini Triathlon, Home Depot-Bob the Builder and more.

 

Allstate North Bay’s Car Seat Clinic and Grand Opening goes tomorrow (Saturday) at Kia North Bay.

There will be kids Carnival games, face painting, a magician, and prizes.

They’re giving away a Diono Radian RXT Car Seat, a Dash Cam and a $100 Visa Gift Card.

There’s also a charity barbecue with proceeds going to One Kids Place, plus the Fire Safety House will be there for Fire Prevention Week.

 

Saving lives can be as easy as lacing up your running shoes.

That from officials with the 11th annual Our Hospital Walk/Run, which goes Sunday at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

Funds raised will go towards the purchase of new medical equipment for the community.
