Ride for Dad bikes 2016

Still awaiting the final total, but officials say at least $56,500 was raised during Saturday’s Nipissing Motorcycle Ride for Dad.

The event is held in support of Prostate Cancer Research.

The 9th annual event saw 300 bikes with 348 people take part.

Prostate Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed men’s cancer.

Officials say the Motorcycle Ride for Dad not only raises funds to fight the disease, it also gives men and their families a reason to talk about it.

With the help of sponsors, over a quarter million dollars has been donated through the local event.

2,600 riders have taken part since 2008 and have collected $200,000 in pledges.

101.9 Rock morning show host Mitch Belanger was the event’s Celebrity Ride Captain.
