North Bay has the second highest contraband cigarette use in the province.

That stat is contained in a new report conducted on behalf of the Ontario Convenience Stores Association.

The report says North Bay’s contraband use is at 75.7 percent, about double the provincial figure.

Only Sault Ste Marie was higher.

As we told you yesterday, the highest contraband use was in northern Ontario, where illegal cigarettes account for just over 60 per cent of all cigarettes smoked.

In terms of where illegal cigarettes are found, high schools reported the biggest year-over-year increase.
